Pre qualification Tool
Our client is introducing a pre-qualification tool on their website that will allow members to see what cards they qualify for before applying for a credit card. The first phase was a MSR-facing (Member Service Representative) tool and now they want to have a member facing version.
UX Challenges
A common issue found during user research was that Members aren’t always sure what credit cards they will qualify for. Often times they ask MSRs what credit card they qualify for which they are unable to answer. A challenge was figuring out where the member facing pre-qualification tool should live on the website.
UX Solutions
The pre-qualification tool helps members avoid receiving a hard pull on their credit score and the hassle of going through the application process.
A member can access the pre-qualification tool from the Credit Card page. There is a link in the top nav which drops the member down to the pre-qualification CTA which links to the pre-qualification landing page. As a team we decided this location was best because a member can browse and learn about the six cards available and then see if they pre-qualify.
As the visual designer on the project I was asked to find a way to make the pre-qualification landing page more visually appealing. The landing page is very simple with a title and subtitle and a form. I chose the illustration route because they are widely used in our client's brand guidelines and it’s a simple way to show complex concepts. I designed a few illustrations that showed the idea of qualifying for a few cards out of a larger selection. I also explored how the illustration would interact with the form on the page.
The final concept has the form in a container and shows a full bleed illustration that runs behind the form. We favored the isometric card illustration because it is a dynamic visual and a current design trend. I also placed the illustration in the entry point to help tie them together.
